Through aggressive reductions in waste & water across the Aveda Value Chain, we are always striving towards a more sustainable future, each and every day.
Our vision is to set new beauty standards of leadership through Aveda’s commitment to supply chain integrity with traceable, fair and sustainable ingredients.
HOW WE DO IT:
95% of essential oil volume is certified organic or sustainably wild harvested.
100% of Aveda’s palm oil is certified organic and Identity Preserved Certified and procured from mass balance sources using the Roundtable for Sustainable Palm Oil guidelines.
Alongside our nonprofit partners on the ground, we help create jobs and income in the communities we source from, teaching their people sustainable farming techniques and helping them provide for their families — giving them a better life.
Aveda has been caring for the world since 1978. To date, our guests, artists, employees and leaders have raised nearly $65M to help fund environmental initiates globally. And our goal is to increase this number to $80M by 2021 through our annual Earth Month initiatives. We’ve partnered with charity: water to provide clean water access, sanitation and hygiene to communities in India, Nepal, Madagascar and Ethiopia – all countries where we source ingredients.
1Product manufacturing is powered by Aveda’s solar array and/or wind energy through renewable energy credits and carbon offsets.
